TCRT5000 Infrared Reflective Optical Sensor

TCRT5000/TCRT5000L are reflective sensors which include an infrared emitter and phototransistor in a leaded package which blocks visible light. The package includes two mounting clips. TCRT5000L is the long lead version and we generally ship the long leaded version. Some of the applications of this sensor are :

• Detection of reflective material such as paper, IBM cards, magnetic tapes etc.
• Position sensor for shaft encoder
• Sensor for Line Follower Robots
• Limit switch for mechanical motions in VCR and alike

Good to Know

• This is just the sensor and not a complete module. You need additional circuitry to make this work. Like any infrared sensor, these are susceptible to sunlight and make sure to test your projects both indoors and outdoors (in sunlight) to get accurate results
